Issue Management
commsLAB supports ambitious organisations with their Issue Management. Among other things, this means systematically identifying, analysing and — both communicatively and strategically — managing the topics relevant to the organisation.
Issue Monitoring is a key element for the early detection of relevant developments concerning an organisation. Early detection does not mean continually surprising the organisation with novel, attention-grabbing issues. Rather, it means correctly assessing the career trajectories and reputational effects of issues that are already largely known.
A comprehensive Issue Monitoring approach is characterised by the following steps:
We offer you, among other options, two analysis approaches, with the setup tailored precisely to your needs:
I – Organisation-Specific Issue Monitoring
In this form it serves as a complement to Reputation Monitoring. At its core is the question of the impact of individual issues or topics on the reputation of your organisation. Positive and negative reputation drivers are identified and an assessment of possible career dynamics is provided.
Areas of application:
- Complement to Reputation Monitoring
II – Issue Monitoring of Strategic Topics
In this application the focus is not on the reputation of one’s own organisation but on achieving specific strategic objectives within selected societal, economic or political debates. The Issue Monitoring serves to track the public debates around these strategic issues in detail (e.g. regarding the actors involved, dominant positions, evaluation patterns) in order to anticipate any need for action and communication in good time.
Areas of application:
- Referendum communication
- Political communication
- Scandal and crisis communication
